At LBL, we’re proud to operate Abingdon Street Market in the heart of Blackpool town centre, and we’re constantly looking for ways to evolve the space into something more than just a food and retail destination. Our latest initiative, the Next-Gen Makers Market, is exactly that, a platform designed to support, showcase and champion the next generation of young entrepreneurs.

Taking place on 11th July 2026, the Next-Gen Makers Market is a brand-new event created specifically for young creatives, makers and business owners aged 13–25. It offers a real-world trading environment where ideas can be tested, confidence can be built, and ambition can be put into action.
The market will bring together a diverse mix of young traders, from fashion and art to handmade products, services and completely new business ideas. Whether participants are just starting out, running a small side hustle, or already developing a growing brand, the event is open to all experience levels. The focus is simple: give young people a professional but supportive space to try something out in front of real customers.
For us at LBL, this is about lowering barriers. There is no cost to take part, because we don’t believe finance should be what stops someone from exploring an idea. If you’ve got creativity, ambition and willingness to get involved, there should be a place for you to start.
Abingdon Street Market has become one of Blackpool’s most exciting and fast-evolving venues, home to independent food traders, bars, retail units and a growing calendar of events.
As operators, we see first-hand how important it is to create spaces that reflect the community around them. The Next-Gen Makers Market is a natural extension of that thinking, using the market not just as a place to trade, but as a place to learn, experiment and grow.
Situated in the centre of town, it provides the perfect setting for young traders to experience a busy, professionally run environment while still being fully supported throughout the process.
We are now inviting applications from young people aged 13–25 who would like to take part.
This opportunity is open to individuals, students, youth groups and anyone with a creative idea, product, service or business concept they want to test in a real environment.
No prior trading experience is required, just enthusiasm, creativity and a willingness to get involved.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Test and develop business ideas in a live market setting
Build confidence and entrepreneurial skills
Showcase products or services to real customers
Gain hands-on experience in a professionally managed venue
Be part of a supportive, youth-focused event
Get Involved
Applications for the Next-Gen Makers Market are completely free.
