The Northern Edit: A Makers Market, Done Differently

When our team created The Northern Edit, we wanted to do something simple: create a makers market that actually works for the people it is designed to support.

As the operators of Abingdon Street Market, we know how much hard work goes into running an independent business. Behind every product is someone who has spent hours designing, making, creating, packaging, photographing, promoting and selling it. We believe getting those products in front of new customers shouldn’t come with a big price tag.

That’s why The Northern Edit is our take on an affordable, genuinely local makers market.

Every vendor is carefully curated, with a focus on local makers, artists and creators. We want The Northern Edit to be a place where people can discover great independent businesses, meet the people behind them and, importantly, actually afford to take part.

Our tables are just £20 including VAT. That’s less than a third of what some other makers markets charge for a single day. We don’t believe you should have to spend hundreds of pounds before you’ve even sold a product. Selling your hard work, building your customer base and getting your name out there shouldn’t come at a cost that puts independent businesses off taking part.

For us, The Northern Edit is about creating opportunities, championing local talent and bringing more independent makers into the heart of Blackpool.

And there are just three dates left for 2026:

Saturday 25th October, Sunday 22nd November and Saturday 12th December.
