FOOD HALL OPERATIONS MANAGER

Reports to: Operations Manager

Location: Abingdon Street Market, Blackpool

Contract Type: 40 Hours

Rate of of pay: £30,000 - £35,000

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Food Hall Operations Manager at Abingdon Street Market is responsible for the smooth and successful operation of the market, overseeing both food & beverage and retail operations. Sitting under the LBL brand, this role acts as the primary point of contact for all tenants across the food hall and retail spaces, ensuring excellent relationships and clear communication. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership and marketing teams on developing and delivering KPIs, strategy and events.


The Manager is accountable for managing budgets, tracking performance, and delivering on financial targets, while upholding the standards and values of the LBL Group. They will lead and support the onsite team, ensuring they are motivated, well-trained, and equipped to deliver a high-quality experience for guests and tenants alike.


This is a hands-on leadership role, combining operational oversight, commercial awareness, and people management to ensure Abingdon Street Market thrives as a flagship venue within the group.


Key Responsibilities:

Stock, Compliance & Finance Control

  • Ensure spends are tracked and in-line with budgets.

  • Creating a weekly performance brief for the management team on budgets, spends and focus points for the week.

  • Track and achieve company standards on stock holding, waste and GP.

  • Produce weekly reports for the Operations Manager

  • Sign off rotas at least two weeks in advance, ensuring they are in line with business demand and budgets

  • Invoice & PO management, ensuring all purchases are properly logged.

  • Monthly full stock takes and reports, as well as supporting the AM to remedy issues on line checks


Operational Standards

  • Conduct daily audits to maintain venue standards.

  • Lead services and shifts in line with LBL standards

  • Ensure the venue ambience and environment is to LBL standards.

  • Ensure the venue meets or exceeds company operational scorecard standards.

  • Leadership & Teamwork

  • Chair weekly team meeting

  • Set the standard for your team

  • Support, train, and motivate the bar and floor teams.

  • Lead by example in delivering LBL standard guest experience.

  • Ensure clear communication between teams and management.

  • Coach and develop junior managers


Tenant & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for food hall and retail traders

  • Build strong relationships with tenants to support their success

  • Ensure traders comply with lease agreements and operational standards

  • Work collaboratively to resolve operational issues Support traders with events, promotions and performance where needed


Who we’re looking for

  • 2+ Years experience in a senior management role (Essential)

  • Personal license holder (Essential)

  • Strong understanding of the commercial side of a business (Essential)

  • A guest first focus (Essential)

  • Comfortable and confident dealing with multiple stakeholders (Essential)

  • A people person, who can maintain strong relationships (Essential)
